Hurricane Maria…What are you up to? This morning there was an interesting development that may have an impact on the long-term forecast. It was still a hurricane, and it was impacting the Turks and Caicos islands this morning. However, the pressure had increased to 959mb (millibars). Also, the eye of the hurricane really filled in. Take a look: Maria On Satellite The clouds were still moving quickly. So it’s not like it put the brakes on. The 8am update from the National Hurricane Center did not bring down the winds, but I didn’t see anything that…
Nice weather locally , but we are tracking hurricane Maria and tropical storm Jose in the Atlantic.
Hurricane Maria is battering Puerto Rico today. Meanwhile tropical storm Jose Meanders offshore to our northeast.
Chilling in the news studio.
Locally we’ll have some rain and coastal winds from the outer bands of Jose. Also tracking Maria in the Caribbean.
Tidal Flooding, gusty winds, and some showers tonight thru Tue.
Jose will stay offshore, but it will have some impacts on our region. Also tracking 2 other systems in the tropics.
Tracking TWO hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin. Maria could take a similar track to Jose by next week, but uncertainly remains.
I’m interning with Wavy. Yes. It’s still sinking in.
I helped at the event!
Highlights and thoughts on my first week at WAVY with the Hampton Roads Show.
Jose expected to bring mainly coastal impacts: wind, rain, tidal flooding, and rip currents
