From 70s to 40s…

TODAYS WEATHER PATTERN

It was very warm this morning…more than 20° warmer than yesterday morning.

LOWS THIS MORNING

 

Keep in mind that the average afternoon High for this time of year is around 50° (for Norfolk).  So, the morning “lows” were well above the average high for this time of year.  It’s a good indication of the warm air mass in place…and of the unseasonably warm day you can expect.  Highs will reach the 70s this afternoon.

 

FUTURE TRAK FORECAST- TEMPS TODAY

 

The warm up is taking place out ahead of a cold front that’ll cross the area early Monday morning.

TODAY’S WEATHER PATTERN- WARM SOUTHERLY WIND AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT

 

As the front crosses our area, temps will gradually fall throughout the day tomorrow. It’ll start with 60s before sunrise (see graphic below)….

…with temps falling into the 40s by the 2nd half of the day. So, bring along an extra sweater or bigger jacket to put on for Monday afternoon.

Along with the falling temps, there will be some rain affiliated with the passing front.  Actually, rain is likely as the front crosses throughout Monday morning….tapering off by the afternoon.  Severe weather isn’t likely, but heavy downpours are possible. Rainfall estimates will be less than 1″

Today, there could also be a few showers (30%)…but it won’t be a wash-out.
