BLOG: Slow Improvements

It wasn’t an overly pleasant start to the weekend.  I know it’s fall..and it gets chilly..but the wind was the real pest!  Luckily, it won’t be as breezy today and as a result, it’ll be a milder afternoon across Hampton Roads and North Carolina.

This morning, we are waking up to temperatures in the low to mid-30s, so it’s not as cold as it was Saturday morning, but you’ll still want a warm jacket as you head out the door for Sunday services or to walk the dog.

Throughout the day, expect a mix of high and mid level clouds, so we’ll call it partly sunny with temperatures topping out in the mid-50s.  It’ll be noticeably milder this afternoon, but we’ll still be below our average high of 62°.  Eventually we will be back in the 60s, but not until the latter half of the week.

From today all the way through Wednesday, highs will be running a few degrees below average.  Thursday, Friday, and Saturday is when the mercury will return to the 60s.

Overnight, an area of low pressure will skirt across Virginia and North Carolina, so that will allow showers to develop after Midnight and continue into your Monday morning commute. Since this will be a quick-moving low, we will only be tracking scattered showers for the first half of your Monday.

The clouds will gradually break apart tomorrow afternoon and we’ll see some sunshine before the sun sets just before 5 PM.

Expect lots of sunshine from Tuesday through Thursday – and as I wrote before – highs will be back in the 60s by Thursday.  Sloooow improvements in the temperature department this week..
