Temperatures won’t be quite as hot today as they have been lately. We’ll see a break from the high heat for a couple of days. However, the big heat will return as we go through the work week. Today there is a stationary front over the region.
This will try to drift a little to the south as we go through the day. This will help to cool us down a little bit compared to yesterday. High temps will be in the upper 80s to near 90. It is still humid out, but at least the oppressive heat has moved south. The drifting front will create some scattered showers and storms. The highest chances for rain are to the south and east. There is less of a chance for rain from Hampton northward.
It definitely won’t be a washout (all day rain), however there will be some spots of heavy rain.
Winds will be out of the east at 5-10mph. So it should be just a little cooler near the shore. This could help a sea-breeze to form. That cool down some of the inland locations later in the day.
By tomorrow the front will fall apart. However, it might turn into a weak wind-shift line. This could still bring a few showers and storms to the region. High temps will still be in the upper 80s to near 90. So it shouldn’t be that bad. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds. As we roll through the week, temps will shoot back up. We may see some of the type of heat that we just had recently. The models have brought the high temps back up to the mid-upper 90s from Thursday into next weekend. It might get pretty rough again. We’ll update you through the week.
There is a weak disturbance in the central Atlantic. It is moving steadily west. There is a lot of dry out air there. So it only has a weak chance for development. We’ll bring you updates.
