The warm weather continues on this Hump Day! Highs will hover around 80 degrees (and it’ll be a bit muggy), but a cold front is on the move…bringing cooler weather with it. However, a few showers can also be expected as this front moves across our area.
There is not a lot of moisture affiliated with this system, but there is enough to squeeze out some hit and miss showers. Timing looks to be primarily after 3pm.
Based on the atmospheric pattern, there could be some brief heavy downpours…but severe weather isn’t likely. Yet, an isolated storm or two along with some gusty winds are possible. Most of the showers that form should taper off by 8PM, but some could linger into NE North Carolina through 10PM tonight. Rainfall estimates should be less than 1/4″ for most areas.
In the wake of the front, COOLER (more seasonable) weather moves in for Thursday and Friday on the N/NE wind.
So, instead of upper 70s / near 80° weather, temps fall down into the low-mid 60s for Thursday with mid-upper 60s on Friday.
The “seasonable cool down” won’t last long. The winds will shift back from the South… leading to a warm up for your Easter Weekend. Highs will be in the low-mid 70s on Saturday with near 80 degree temps for Easter Sunday. Showers aren’t likely this weekend, but some isolated showers could creep in later Easter Sunday night and linger through Monday morning. It’ll be a little cooler next week behind another cold front that’ll cross on Monday.
