Yesterday evening we did get our scattered Spring-time thunderstorms as expected. I only saw one severe thunderstorm warning for the whole region. They were mostly scattered heavy-rainers. Storms Yesterday Evening We also saw some small hail over the region. However, I didn’t see any reports of severe hail. What? Isn’t all hail severe? No. Small hail is common and isn’t considered life threatening. However, once it reaches 1″ in diameter, then it is deemed severe. The criteria used to be 3/4″, but that changed to 1″ in 2010.
