For you history buffs, this weekend marks 156 years since the Civil War Battle when the Union ironclad USS Monitor fought the Confederate ironclad CSS Virginia. To commemorate the battle, The Mariners Museum in Newport News host a weekend full of festive events.

It’s a St. Patrick’s Day block party on Colley Avenue in Ghent put on by the Hope House Foundation. You can expect live music, fun activities for the kiddos and festive food and drinks from Belly Full Food Truck.
