Man driving stolen vehicle arrested after Chesapeake police chase

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – An early morning pursuit in Chesapeake ended with an arrest in Norfolk Friday, according to Chesapeake Police.

Dominique Jarrett, 27, was arrested after he refused to stop for an officer at Indian River Road and Hazel Avenue around 2 a.m.

The officer pursued Jarrett onto I-64 until the vehicle became disabled near the Little Creek exit.

Jarrett has been charged with possession of property for the vehicle he was driving, driving on a suspended license, defective equipment, felony eluding police and possession of marijuana.

He had three outstanding warrants for his arrest for petit larceny (third offense), a probation violation and failure to appear in court in addition to Friday’s charges, according to police.

Police say there were no injuries from this incident.
