Underground propane leak at rural Suffolk home

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Two homes were evacuated in a Suffolk neighborhood Tuesday afternoon as the result of a gas leak.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue was called to the 3800 block of Jackson Road around 1:30 p.m. in reference to a leak in an underground propane tank.

Two homes were evacuated as a precaution and the 3800 block of Jackson Road is currently closed. Suffolk Police are on scene directing traffic.

A propane company is on its way to the scene to fix the leak.
