Small plane crashes in wooded area in Md. near Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBAL) — A single-engine plane crashed Friday afternoon in a wooded area near the southbound lanes of Interstate 97 near U.S. Route 50, according to Anne Arundel County police.

An adult and two children are being evaluated for possible minor injuries, officials said.

Fire officials said crews are evaluating a small fuel leak.

Officials said the plane was attempting to land at Lee Airport.
