3 hurt in 22nd Street drive-by shooting in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — An investigation is underway into a drive-by shooting that resulted in three people being injured in Newport News.

Dispatch was alerted to a shooting on 22nd Street at 9:30 p.m. Police say when officers responded to the scene, they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg and a 35-year-old man with a wound to the stomach. Both were taken to the hospital and their conditions was unknown.

A third gunshot victim, a 23-year-old man, arrived at the hospital shortly after that with a gunshot wound to the foot, police say.

The victims were standing by a car when a vehicle drove by and someone started firing from inside. Police say the suspect vehicle may be a dark green two-door car.
