Five people injured in three separate shootings in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Five people were hurt in three separate shootings that happened overnight Saturday, Hampton police say.

According to information released Monday by police, all of the shootings happened within an hour around midnight.

The first of the shootings happened around 11: 30 p.m. near the intersection of Old Fox Hill Road and Granella Street.

Several people were reportedly fighting in the area when someone started shooting. Police say a 40-year-old woman was injured.

Around 45 minutes later, police say a 20-year-old man was injured by gunfire on Mariner’s Cove Road. The man was standing in front of a home when he heard gunshots, and was then hit, according to police.

Three women were injured in a drive-by shooting around 12:30 a.m. on Kentucky Avenue. Police say people in three vehicles drove up to the home and opened fire.

One of the suspected vehicles was found crashed a short distance from the home.

No suspects have been identified in the three shootings. All five people shot suffered injuries described as not life-threatening.
