NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The first floor of a home in Norfolk sustained damage Thursday in an early morning fire.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue officials say units were called to a home on Jubilee Street just after 5 a.m.
Officials say the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen area. Damage was confined to the kitchen and adjoining rooms on the first floor.
The home appeared to be occupied, but no one was home at the time. It is unknown many people may have been displaced.
Officials say the NHRA is working to contact the home’s occupant or occupants.
The fire was called under control around 5:25 a.m. No injuries were reported.
