CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A fire damaged a home in the southern part of Chesapeake on Thursday.
Chesapeake Fire Division Chief Sam Gulisano said crews were called to the fire on Raven Road, near Indian Creek Road, at 7:50 p.m. Firefighters got to the scene 13 minutes later to find heavy fire coming from the home.
Crews called extra fire engines and firefighters to assist responding crews. The home is in an area of the city that does not have a city water system, so the additional engines were used to shuttle water to the scene.
The fire was marked under control at 9:01 p.m.
The house appears to be vacant, according to fire officials. It will be a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
