1 of 4 convicted sex offenders wanted by Marshals taken into custody

UPDATE: The U.S. Marshals say Vergis Land has been taken into custody. He was arrested at a home in the 500 block of Aragona Boulevard in Virginia Beach on Wednesday afternoon.


HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — The U.S. Marshals are searching for four convicted sex offenders who are all longtime Hampton Roads residents.

All four fugitive sex offenders are wanted on outstanding warrants for failure to register as a sex offender with the Virginia State Police. Three out of the four are also wanted by the Virginia Beach Police Department on probation violation charges.

Lloyd “Half-Pint” Howard

  • Warrant issued 7/16/2013
  • Longtime Norfolk resident known to frequent Lindenwood
  • Underlying sex offense: Convicted of rape in Norfolk in 1986

Also wanted out of Virginia Beach for probation violation, original charge of drug possession

Linwood Tyner Jr.

  • Warrant issued 4/10/2014
  • Known to frequent Ocean View and Virginia Beach
  • Underlying sex offense: Convicted of indecent liberties with child by custodian in Virginia Beach in 2008

Also wanted out of Virginia Beach for probation violation, original charge of custodial indecent liberties

Vergis Land

  • Warrant issued 8/13/2015
  • Longtime Norfolk resident with a history of being homeless
  • Underlying sex offense: Convicted of aggravated sexual battery in Virginia Beach in 1997

Also wanted out of Virginia Beach for probation violation, original charge of aggravated sexual battery

Venny Lonnie Green

  • Warrant issued 6/15/2017
  • Longtime Norfolk resident with a history of being homeless
  • Underlying sex offense: Convicted of criminal sexual act in the first degree in New York in 1996
