Man airlifted to hospital after crash in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man was airlifted to the hospital Friday after a crash in Virginia Beach.

The single-vehicle accident happened in the 700 block of Princess Anne Road, near Pungo Ferry Road. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 6:27 p.m.

According to police, the man driving the vehicle, heading southbound on Princess Anne Road, when he lost control and crashed into a large ditch. Nightingale took the man to a local hospital.

The man doesn’t appear to have any life-threatening injuries at this time. Police say alcohol may have been a factor in this crash.

Princess Anne Road was closed for a brief period of time, but has since reopened.

Police are still investigating.
