Norfolk Southern train strikes car on tracks in North Carolina

DURHAM, N.C. (WRAL) —  A Norfolk Southern freight train hit a car on the tracks in Durham shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

It happened at Pettigrew and Driver streets.

The engine pushed the car about a quarter of a mile down the tracks.

The driver of the car was able to get out and suffered minor injuries.

No one on the train was injured.
