Portsmouth police release video of suspect in Mt. Vernon Ave. shooting

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A shooting left one person seriously injured Monday in Portsmouth.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue at 1:50 p.m.

Medics took the victim to a local hospital, where he is being treated. Police have not said whether the victim is a juvenile or an adult.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect on Tuesday. It shows the suspect running around a corner, near some mailboxes, then it appears he fires a gun several times.
