NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were injured by gunfire Tuesday evening in Norfolk, police say.
Norfolk police said Wednesday that officers were called to the scene on Brambleton Avenue around 8:25 p.m. It was reported that there was a gunshot disturbance.
Officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for a non life-threatening injury.
The man told police he was walking on Brambleton Avenue when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot.
A short time later, a 30-year-old woman called police to report that she had been grazed by gunfire while standing outside in the 700 block of Lincoln Street. She was treated by medics on scene.
