Two men expected to recover after Saturday double shooting in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Two men were injured in a double shooting Saturday in Portsmouth.

Police say around 10:42 p.m., officers were called to Columbus Avenue and Lexington Drive for a report of a man shot. When emergency crews got to the scene, they found a 19-year-old man who had been shot in the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

As officers investigated the first shooting, police were notified that an 18-year-old man walked into Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. He had a seriously gunshot wound to the torso.

Authorities believe the two victims were injured in the same shooting. Both victims are expected to survive, according to police.
