HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police gave an all-clear after a threat was called in to the General District Court Tuesday.

A tweet from Hampton police stated the threat was being investigated in the 200 block of North King Street. Traffic was blocked off as police investigated.

Authorities determined a man contacted the court and indicated that he was going to blow a building up. According to police, the man was not at the courthouse and was at a different location.

Police cleared the scene a short time later after sweeping the courthouse and finding nothing suspicious. The Newport News Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit assisted in the search.
