New Perquimans County sheriff to be sworn in Feb. 1

PERQUIMANS COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — The Perquimans County Board of Commissioners has selected Shelby White to serve as sheriff.

The board unanimously voted for White to take over when Sherrif Eric Tilley retires on Jan. 31.

The sheriff’s office says White is humbled by the selection and looks forward to becoming sheriff. He will be sworn in on Feb. 1.
