Woman wanted for threatening to burn Newport News building

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police are looking for a woman they say threatened to burn a Newport News building.

On Saturday, officers were called to the 600 block of Dresden Drive for a reported fuel spill. Police were told someone had poured gasoline in front of a building. Officers got on scene and spoke with a 20-year-old Norfolk woman who said a woman named Shada told her if she didn’t get her wallet back, she was going to burn the building down.

The Newport News Fire Marshal’s Office was also notified and responded to the scene.

After further investigation, officers identified the woman who made the threats as 30-year-old Shada Wiggins, of Newport News.

Warrants were taken out against Wiggins for attempting to commit a non-capital offense and threats to burn.
