PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Three men were taken into custody Monday night following a 30-minute pursuit through Portsmouth.

Dispatchers said the pursuit began around 8:40 p.m. at High Street and Mount Vernon Avenue. By 9:11 p.m., three men were taken into custody without incident.

Detective Misty Holley said charges are pending against the men, though it’s not yet been determined what charges they will face. However, there will be some narcotics-related charges, Holley said.

Holley said it wasn’t a high speed pursuit, as the driver was driving at a normal speed and was not being reckless. No one was injured.

It’s not clear why officers were originally trying to pull over the vehicle.
