Arrest made in Hampton pawn shop burglary

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Police made an arrest in a burglary at a Hampton pawn shop and recovered the stolen goods.

Officers responded to Epstein’s Pawn Shop on South Mallory Street early Saturday morning, after an alarm at the business activated.

Investigators learned that a suspect forced his way through the front door, stole some jewelry, then fled. Officers quickly located the suspect in the area and took him into custody. Police say the jewelry taken from the business was recovered.

22-year-old Shyheim Speller has been charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count grand larceny.
