Southside tops Peninsula 24-12 in annual 757 All-Star Classic

NORFOLK (WAVY) – Rashawn Griffin (Lake Taylor) rushed for a 53-yard touchdown in the game’s opening quarter, quarterback Justice Bigbie (Grassfield) scored go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, and Devonte Williams (Salem) added a game-sealing touchdown to give the Southside a 24-12 win over the Peninsula in the third annual 757 All-Star Classic.

Griffin was named the Southside’s offensive MVP, while the defensive MVP was given to another Titan, Malachi Houchins.

Trailing 10-3 at the half, the Peninsula tied the game when Jeramiah Boyd (Heritage) found Keith Grandy (Kecoughtan) for a 44-yard touchdown.

Boyd was named the game’s Offensive MVP, while Woodside’s Kamari Jackson, who’s committed to Delaware State, was named Defensive MVP.
