PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in connection with stealing from a pawn shop.

Police say that on December 2, a man came into the Cash Money Pawn Shop in the 5000 block of Portsmouth Boulevard, and began walking around looking inside the display cases.

A few moments later, a woman, using a false identity, came into the store telling the clerk she was there to pay for a TV she pawned. As the woman distracted the clerk, the man, who entered the store before her, reached across the counter and took merchandise valued at over $300.

The woman then paid the clerk for the TV and the man carried it outside. Both suspects then left the location together in a dark-colored four-door sedan.
