Busch Gardens to reopen Friday with some rides closed

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – Busch Gardens Williamsburg was closed Thursday due to a water main break.

The park apologized for the inconvenience and said that all tickets dated Dec. 15 will be automatically extended six days and will be valid from Dec. 16 to Dec. 21.

The park will reopen as scheduled from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. However, due to the frigid cold temperatures, some of the rides will not be operating, including: Verbolten, Tempesto, Nacht Tower and Grover’s Alpine Express.

“We know this is disappointing news and we apologize for the inconvenience,” a post on the Busch Gardens Williamsburg Facebook page reads.

One of the park’s top attractions, Christmas Town, runs from the day after Thanksgiving to the day after New Year’s Day.

You can call 1-800-343-7946 for all other reservation questions. Guests are encouraged to follow Busch Gardens on Facebook at www.facebook.com/buschgardensva for any additional updates.
