Two men plead guilty in 2015 Newport News bank robbery

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Two men pleaded guilty Thursday to robbing a SunTrust bank in Newport News last year.

In October 2015, police said 20-year-old Eric Tyrone Purvis, Jr. and 22-year-old Christopher Xavier Burley were wearing masks and had guns when they went into the bank at 10814 Warwick Boulevard and demanded cash.

Purvis was sentenced to eight years in prison. Burley will serve three years behind bars.
