Waterside District adds Virginia-based oyster company

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Waterside District announced Monday that it is adding Virginia-based Rappahannock Oyster Co. to its growing list of restaurants.

According to a news release, Rappahannock Oyster Co. will serve oysters from the Chesapeake Bay with its farm-to-table approach. The new location is expected to debut when the Waterside District is completed in spring of 2017.

Hundreds line up to work at new Waterside District

“We are excited to announce another Virginia-based company to open at Waterside District,” said Reed S. Cordish, Vice President of The Cordish Companies. “Rappahannock Oyster Co. will bring fresh, flavorful seafood for a unique culinary experience that complements our other venues.”

The Waterside District alreayd has several regional and nation restaurants and breweries lined up for the spring of 2017.

This includes Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse, Blue Moon TapHouse, Carolina Cupcakery and Starr Hill.
