Navy sailor victim in carjacking at Norfolk military housing

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Navy sailor was the victim in a carjacking early Tuesday morning at military housing in the Whitehurst Farms neighborhood.

Around 12:10 a.m., officers responded to a reported robbery in the 8300 block of Guam Parkway. When police arrived, a 23-year-old man told officers that two unknown men approached him while he was removing items from his Silver, four-door Ford Fusion in front of his home. One of the suspects displayed a gun and demanded his belongings and the keys to his car. The man complied and the suspects drove off in the victim’s vehicle before officers got on scene.

There were no injuries reported.

The armed suspect was described by police as a black man in his early 20s, around 5 feet 9 inches tall and last seen wearing a black mask covering his face and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Authorities have not provided any other additional information.
