Man killed in single-car crash off I-264 in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A 22-year-old man died late Monday night in a single-car crash off of Interstate 264 in Virginia Beach.

Virginia State Police say Alexander Timothy Cody was driving a 2013 Ford Mustang west on I-264 at a high rate of speed.

Cody reportedly lost control at the Newtown Road exit, ran off the road and into in the woods. Police say the crash happened shortly before midnight on Monday, Nov. 28.

According to police, Cody suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

Cody was wearing a seat belt during the crash, and police say it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
