Man found shot in Waffle House in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A man has life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the Waffle House in the 1800 block of West Mercury Boulevard Saturday morning.

Police say they received a call at 2:38 a.m. for the shooting. When units arrived, they found an adult suffering from a single gunshot wound inside the restaurant. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation occurred inside the restaurant when the suspect discharged a firearm, striking the victim one time.  The suspect fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. There is no suspect information.

This is the second shooting inside the Waffle House since October. There was also man that was shot dead at the Waffle House parking lot in November of 2015.
