NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — People in Hampton Roads are spending Black Friday at area malls, looking to get the best deals they can find.
The MacArthur Center opened to shoppers at 8 a.m. Friday. Staff told 10 On Your Side’s Kara Dixon that it’s actually been busier than they expected this year.
Jim Wofford, General Manager of MacArthur Center, said he thinks the Black Friday turnout means shoppers will be out all weekend.
“This morning was an unusually strong morning,” Wofford said. “By 7 a.m., the merchants were here opening up the stores, excited about the holiday season, and by 7:30, we had folks actually in line waiting to get into the stores.”
At the Williamsburg Premium Outlets, a spokesperson says the parking lot was almost totally full as of 10 p.m. Thursday.
