HENDERSON CO., N.C. (WSPA) — A North Carolina high school teacher is accused of having sexual contact with a student.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has charged Devon Ross Lategan, 29, with one felony count of sexual activity with a student.
The charge came after allegations Lategan had sexual contact with a 17-year-old female West Henderson High School student in June 2016, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Lategan used to teach at the high school. He is currently a teacher at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, other stations report.
Lategan was arrested Wednesday in Wake County and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Deputies say he could face more charges as the investigation continues.
