Shooting on 24th Street in Newport News now a homicide

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A shooting on 24th Street in Newport News is now considered a homicide, police say.

Officers were called to the Bronx Deli at 24th Street and Oak Street Saturday night for a shooting. A man was found shot and unresponsive.

It was originally reported that the man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say the victim, 32-year-old Christopher Alexander Jordan, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday evening.

Police say they do not have information on a possible suspect.
