Concrete truck lands on freight truck in Suffolk crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A crash in Suffolk involving a concrete truck and a freight truck closed an intersection near the Franklin city line Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the accident at the intersection of Paper Mill Road and Stewart Drive just before 9:30 a.m. According to Suffolk Fire & Rescue, the crash caused the concrete truck to roll onto the freight truck.

One person was transported to Southampton Memorial Hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening.

Tow trucks were called to the scene to right the overturned truck and remove the vehicles from the road.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
