William & Mary students find graffiti with swastika and ‘Go Trump’

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Students recently found vandalism in a bathroom at the College of William & Mary that featured the words “Go Trump” with a swastika substituting the “T.”

An image of the vandalism was shared on the “Overheard at William and Mary” Facebook page.

Ginger Ambler, William & Mary Vice President for Student Affairs, sent an email to the student body, saying the behavior is unacceptable.

“What can never belong here at W&M are any behaviors that harass, intimidate, or threaten others,” the email reads. “It grieves me to know that students in our community are witnessing or directly experiencing such behaviors, as well as the accompanying pain, confusion, and fear they engender.”

Ambler said in her email that no one has come forward to claim responsibility for the vandalism. Anyone who knows something about the incident is asked to call William & Mary police at 221-4596.

Ambler also said in the email that students have reported threats and harassment since the presidential election. The college has set up a special website with campus policies, how to report discrimination and harassment and a list of campus resources.
