Hampton fire crews rescue worker stuck in cement truck

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Crews rescued a worker stuck in the auger of a cement truck in Hampton Wednesday.

Dispatchers received a call about the incident at 3:10 p.m. Firefighters responded to Pembroke Construction, at 802 Pembroke Avenue, and found a 49-year-old man with his right arm caught in the machine. Crews used a torch and saws to get the man free. He had been stuck for about 45 minutes.

The man was taken to a local trauma center with what appeared to be a serious, but non life-threatening injury.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
