PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The residents who live in the Swanson Homes neighborhood of Portsmouth are still suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
All these weeks later, many families are out of their homes and in hotels. The city, organizations and community groups are doing what they can to help. This past weekend, a club called The Stadium reached out with assistance. A drawing was held and three names were chosen. Those people were treated to a shopping spree by the club’s owners as a way to help the families buy some of the necessities they lost in the storm’s flooding.
The Stadium wanted to give back, to help people in need in their community. The Swanson Homes residents, meantime, are grateful.
