JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation on Wednesday is holding a public hearing for proposed plans to improve an intersection in James City County.

VDOT says the project — which is for the intersection of Centerville Road and News Road — is expected to improve safety and capacity with the construction of turn lanes and a traffic signal.

Residents will have a chance at the meeting to look at the project and provide feedback to VDOT officials.

The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at Matoaka Elementary School.
