Portsmouth Police respond to six overdoses within 12 hours

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Police say they responded to six overdoses within 12 hours between Saturday and Sunday.

According to police, medics were able to arrive on time and provide treatment to save five of the six individuals having an overdose. One person did die as a result of an overdose.

Detectives with the Special Investigations Division are continuing to investigate the overdose incidents and warn citizens of the dangers of drug use and to think twice before purchasing and using them.
