RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — More protesters took to Richmond streets Thursday night.
Twelve people were arrested Wednesday after protesters blocked a portion of Interstate 95 and marched through the VCU campus area downtown.
On Thursday, protesters gathered once again at Monroe Park and marched through the city with signs, shouting expletives directed at President-elect Donald Trump.
Protesters said the demonstration comes as part of an organized national effort to protest nightly in the wake of the election.
A police source told WAVY sister station WRIC that Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham had been briefed on the possibility of protests continuing through the weekend, which could potentially disrupt Saturday’s Anthem marathon.
