CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Donald Trump, Jr. cancelled his appearance at a rally in Chesapeake for congressional candidate Marty Williams, according to a spokesperson for the Williams campaign.

Trump, Jr. was supposed to appear at “Party for Marty” at the Quad-City Trump Headquarters on Portsmouth Boulevard Sunday afternoon.

Secret Service agents rushed Donald Trump off a campaign stage in Nevada Saturday after someone in the crowd yelled “gun.” Officials said they did not find anyone with a weapon, and although they detained a man, he was not charged.

A spokesperson for the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to phone calls, so it is not clear whether Trump, Jr.’s cancellation is connected to the incident Saturday.

Williams’ spokesperson said he is now scheduled to appear in Ohio.

Williams is running for the 3rd Congressional District of Virginia against incumbent Bobby Scott, a democrat.

The event is still scheduled from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m.
