Two Norfolk stores robbed within two hours

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two stores in Norfolk were robbed Friday afternoon.

Around 12:45 p.m., police say two armed men entered the Metro PCS store, located at 3016 E. Princess Anne Road, and demanded money. The clerk complied with the suspects and the men ran away before officers got on scene.

There were no injuries report.

Then, shortly after 2:30 p.m., a man armed with a handgun entered the Ocean View Food Mart, located at 3039 E. Ocean View Avenue, and made the clerk give him cash. After the clerk handed over the money, the suspect hit the employee with his gun. He then ran from the scene before police arrived.

The employee was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non life-threatening injury.

Police are still investigating both of these incidents. At this time, police do not believe they are connected.
