NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The public corruption trial for Norfolk City Treasurer Anthony Burfoot is expected to begin Monday.
Burfoot has already pleaded not guilty on charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud. His defense is calling on former city officials to try and prove he did not trade political favors for cash and gifts.
In September, Norfolk developer Ronnie Boone pleaded guilty to bribing city officials — including Burfoot.
10 On Your Side will be in the federal courthouse for Burfoot’s trial. Stay with WAVY.com for continuing coverage of this developing story.
