State house candidate in critical condition at Norfolk hospital

DARE COUNTY, NC (WITN) – A candidate for a state house race is in a Norfolk, Virginia hospital in critical condition.

Warren Judge is a Democrat running for House District 6, which includes parts of Beaufort, Hyde, Washington and Dare counties.

A spokesman for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital says Judge is a patient in their heart hospital.

A post on the candidate’s Facebook page says Judge fell ill last night and is undergoing tests and treatment. “He is receiving the best care possible and more information will be provided when available,” said the post. “Please send him good thoughts and prayers.”

Judge is currently a Dare County commissioner, and is running against fellow county commissioner Beverly Boswell. Current state Representative Paul Tine decided not to seek another term.

Boswell said in a statement that she is praying for Judge and hoping he has a speedy recovery.
