About National Sandwich Day
National Sandwich Day is observed annually on Nov. 3. Sandwich is a city in the shire of Kent in England. The sandwich is believed to be the namesake of John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, following the claim that he invented the sandwich. It’s rumored that he would order his meat be delivered to him between two slices of bread so he wouldn’t get grease on his fingers while he was playing card games.
