HERTFORD, N.C. (WAVY) — Five students have been charged in a fight at Perquimans High School last week that injured as many as 13 staff members.
Superintendent Matthew Cheeseman tells WAVY.com four male students and one female student are facing charges in the Oct. 27 fight that range from disorderly conduct to assault. The ages of the students range from 14 to 17.
Cheeseman said last week that a fight broke out between two students, and that three others ended up getting involved. A staff member was hit by a fire extinguisher that a student had thrown as a projectile.
One of the students involved in the fight was arrested Oct. 27, and the other four involved were expected to face charges.
