Two men taken to hospital after Elizabeth City shooting

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Two men were shot Wednesday evening in Elizabeth City.

Police say at about 7:49 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Walker Avenue for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. When police arrived on scene, they found two victims, Ryan Trevon Spence and Tilonnie Raheam Ferebee, both 22, laying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital. Ferebee was transferred to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Police did not say how badly the victims were injured. An investigation is ongoing.
